We are so grateful for our community of therapists, and the work you do in the world. So we want to give something back, something that nourishes you, something that can become one of your go-to therapist resources, especially helpful right before a client session. If you are interested in mindfulness and psychotherapy, or somatic practices that help you be more grounded for your clients, this free therapist resource may be especially valuable to you.
For one of our more intensive courses, Healing the Fragmented Selves of Trauma Survivors with Janina Fisher, Ph.D., we offered all participants post-class, live therapeutic yoga sessions to help integrate the learning for the day and to relax and integrate their own nervous system. These yoga sessions, called Freedom of Movement ~ Landing in Your Body, are led by De West, C-IAYT, RYT.
Free Therapist Resource Led by De West
The first yoga session received such rave reviews, that we felt selfish not to share it with our entire community. So we are making the recording available to you for free right here.
So much about helping others —whether as a therapist, change agent, or healer — is about noticing, subtlety, and breath. De has created a style of yoga that guides you into an experiential state, not thinking about techniques but simply embodying them.
De says, “Yoga is about noticing… subtle movements… breath…”
We know you will enjoy De’s inclusive approach to yoga and how she leads you through functional movements that will help you shift into your body, get grounded before a client session, or connect with your body when you feel frazzled.
You will practice movements that:
– Relieve eye strain
– Stretch the front of the body
– Lengthen the neck
– Relax the shoulders
– Open the breastbone and heart space
– Soften the belly
– Connect the eyes, brain, and spine to quiet your mind
– And bring awareness to the often-ignored back, heart, lungs, and more
We hope you enjoy this offering and look forward to seeing you here, in our online communities, and in future courses.
