Did You Know?

People become trauma therapists because they want to help others heal. But they often don’t think about what it will be like to be confronted with trauma-related images and stories for six to eight hours a day.

The toll this takes on our minds and bodies, and how our own sense of well-being is significant.

We often end therapy as soon as the distressing symptoms have resolved. We don’t get to see our clients in the after-stage of treatment, when they are experiencing relief, joy, and resilience.

Instead, we're on to the next client, feeling a bit more depleted. Sometimes a lot more depleted.

This cycle cannot continue if we are to continue our critical work in the world.
Learn how to implement a resilience-informed approach to therapy that helps both you and your clients.
