An In-depth Training with Deirdre Fay, MSW
Hello,
It’s incredibly likely that you’re seeing the impact of insecure attachment in your clients. And while you might understand attachment theory intellectually, it can be hard to facilitate real change for your clients with deeply ingrained relational habits.
Typical attachment intervention techniques can often fall short – remaining way too cerebral without embodiment.
This can leave your client gaining insights throughout your sessions, but still feeling like their sense of inner security is untouched.
Deirdre Fay’s integrative, embodied approach is the missing ingredient that makes attachment work transformative for you and your clients. She draws from diverse modalities such as mindfulness, sensorimotor therapy, and even yogic psychology to help clients feel secure from the inside out.
This combination of modalities and focus on the whole self allows you to help your clients rewrite their attachment patterns at the deepest levels.
Deirdre is renowned for translating Eastern yogic principles into psychotherapeutic techniques that bring attachment theory to life in new ways.
Her clinical toolbox of triggers, time capsules, and granularity can catalyze transformation in new ways to help you…
In this 5-module course, you’ll learn the secrets of the comprehensive attachment framework that Deirdre has spent over 40+ years developing and refining.
Don’t wait to gain these paradigm-shifting skills. Sign up for Deirdre’s course today and start creating new levels of real breakthroughs with your clients.
Warmly,
Deirdre Fay, MSW &
Academy of Therapy Wisdom
When Attachment Styles Derail Connection...
Insecure attachment prevents people from having their core emotional needs met.
Without a secure base, they struggle to regulate difficult feelings and connect with others.
They may distance themselves from intimacy to prevent pain, obsess about abandonment, or fluctuate between extremes.
Destructive patterns like these arise when attachment figures in their past were unreliable or unsafe.
As adults, these survival strategies become ingrained habits that provide short-term security but cause long-term suffering.
Safely relying on others takes a back seat to quick fixes for unbearable pain.
But YOU have the power to guide clients out of these cycles toward true healing.
With the skills and compassion you’ll gain from this course, you CAN help clients break free from the prison of insecure attachment.
You’ll become the therapist your clients need to FINALLY feel safe, connected, and able to love.
Don’t wait another day. Enroll now and start making a difference in the lives of those suffering.
“The course has changed the way I think of attachment in a very practical and everyday way with clients.”
“I am truly appreciating the course. It has changed the way I think of attachment in a very practical and everyday way with clients. I can, as a result, see the changes in how I approach my clinical work. And how my clients are having the changes that make a difference for them.”
– David

An international expert on the treatment of trauma, she is the founder of Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) and an Advisory Board member of the Trauma Research Foundation. A conversation with Deirdre and Paul Gilbert.
Paul Gilbert, OBE, is a clinical psychologist. Gilbert is the founder of compassion focused therapy (CFT), compassionate mind training (CMT), and the author of The Compassionate Mind: A New Approach to Life’s Challenges and Overcoming Depression.
In this conversation, Amy and Deirdre talk about helping clients “ride the waves” of disturbed mood, memories about the past, and fears about the future – with compassionate awareness. Amy discusses the yogic nondual approach, exploring the opposites of sensation, emotion, and thought. She explains and leads yoga-based practices that provide a larger self-awareness for the client, less constricted by their very real story of harm, and shares yoga practices essential for expanding the “window of tolerance” and helping clients to self-regulate.
Amy Weintraub is the founder of the LifeForce Yoga® Healing Institute, an acclaimed yoga therapist, and a pioneer in the field of yoga and mental health. She is the author of Yoga for Depression; Yoga Skills for Therapists; the card deck, Yoga for Your Mood Deck: 52 Ways to Shift Depression and Anxiety; and the Silver Nautilus Award-winning novel Temple Dancer.
Ruth Cohn, LMFT, is a psychotherapist and expert specializing in work with survivors of trauma and neglect, their intimate partners, and families. A Certified Sex Therapist with additional certifications in Neurofeedback, EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Imago Relationship Therapy, she is the author of numerous articles on sexuality, trauma, and neglect, as well as three books: Working with the Developmental Trauma of Childhood Neglect: Using Psychotherapy and Attachment Theory Techniques in Clinical Practice, Coming Home to Passion: Restoring Loving Sexuality in Couples with Histories of Childhood Trauma and Neglect, and Out of My Mind: Late Night Contemplations About Trauma and Neglect.
Playing off of Sunil’s perspective as a yogi, and Deirdre’s work with yogic psychology, Deirdre and Sunil explore what keeps people blocked from living a compassionate life.
Sunil Lad, PhD, works in the NHS as a Consultant Counseling Psychologist and is also the NHS National Clinical Director for Health and Justice. With a keen interest in the overlaps between mind and body, evolutionary psychology, and the science of compassion, Dr. Lad combines the ancient insights of yoga with emerging scientific findings on how to improve physical and mental health. He completed a yoga teacher training course in 2017 and finds that the practice of yoga helps him access compassion and wisdom in even the most challenging of work environments.
Lani Yamasaki and Deirdre Fay explore how to build internal safety and interconnectedness through elements of Lani’s Hawaiian traditions. Through sacred breath, aloha (which stretches to encompass sympathy, kindness and mercy), sacred energy, the Lōkahi tradition and other traditions of Lani’s family and culture, we see practices which can provide a forcefield and a net of safety when triggers and trauma come knocking.
Lani Yamasaki is a Native Hawaiian cultural practitioner, certified health and integrative nutrition coach, artist, public speaker, educator, personal development coach, and social business development consultant. She has served as a consultant to the U.S. Department Health and Human Services, Native American Administration, and First Nations Development Institute. There seems to be an intriguing connection between hoarding and attachment issues. Do we hoard or hold on to things as an extension of self? Or have a fear of letting as a kind of transitional object? These are some of the ideas Deirdre explores with Dr. Chou, an expert in hoarding.
Chia-Ying Chou, PhD, is founder and director of the San Francisco Center for Compassion Focused Therapies – a group psychotherapy practice and training hub for Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Dr. Chou obtained her PhD from University College London with a focus on trauma. She spent her postdoc years at University of California, San Francisco working with individuals experiencing hoarding, which she considers to be a relatable human experience and a form of difficulty letting go. Dr. Chou’s interest focuses on the connection between trauma and the blocks and fears of letting-go and letting-in. She provides training and consultation for clinicians on CFT and hoarding worldwide. Her team found the Better Treatment for Hoarding program, which brings forth compassion-based public education, support, and research about hoarding.
