Welcome Back!

Thank you for joining me for the fourth Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) training leading to certification. This course is for those of you who have completed TIST 1 and TIST 2 and are ready to deepen your skills and complete certification.

In Level 1, you learned the foundational skills of the model. In Level 2, you deepened your understanding and became more nuanced in working with clients and traumatized parts.

Level 3 is designed to give you advanced practitioner skills, so that you can bring the TIST method to your community as a certified professional with confidence and poise. Completion of Level 3 also elevates you to the top of the TIST Therapist Directory.

This training consists of twelve hours of small group practice sessions supervised by a facilitator and twelve hours of live training with me that provide an opportunity for questions and discussion.

The practice sessions are led by experienced Senior Facilitators who have worked with the TIST method for up to 20 years. In these small groups of 6-8 people, you will have the opportunity to practice your TIST skills and receive thoughtful and supportive feedback in real time, so that you can truly master this methodology and demonstrate your abilities. Unlike other certification trainings, we donโ€™t ask you to demonstate exceptional ability but rather show that you can consistently master the fundamentals.

In these small groups of 6-8 people, you will have the opportunity to practice the concepts and receive thoughtful and supportive feedback in real time, so that you can truly master this methodology.

Here's what you'll be learning:

  • What it means to be a TIST-Certified therapist
  • Facilitating client empathy and compassion for parts
  • Foundational skills
  • How to heal the legacy of the past

As you complete this training, youโ€™ll have gained even more skills and confidence in treating any client that comes into your office. Join me for this final step to certification!

I look forward to seeing you inside the course!

Warmly,

Academy of Therapy Wisdomย

TIST Certification: What Does it Mean to be a TIST-Certified Therapist?

Certification represents attainment of the building blocks of the model. In this module, we will discuss the basic foundational skills needed to acquire competence in the method.

You will learn:

  • How to "hear" the voices of the parts in the client's narrative

  • How to help clients replace reactivity with mindful noticing of parts

Module Two
LIVE CALL: February 6th, 2026 9-12pm PST

Foundational Skills

โ€œFoundational skillsโ€ are the prerequisite for success in treatment.ย  Attainment of these basic skills is the focus of this module.

You will learn:

  • Mindfully notice and name distressing emotions and impulses as parts
  • Implement the โ€˜language of partsโ€™ rather than using the language of โ€˜Iโ€™
  • Help clients increase their access to โ€œCโ€ qualitiesย
  • Foster understanding of and empathy for the parts at the clientโ€™s pace

Module Three
Live call: February 17th, 2026 9-12pm PST

Blending with Parts and Unblending

This module will focus on understanding and building trust with parts.

  • Help clients to recognize blending as information about a part
  • Teach clients how to unblend from the feelings and impulses of parts
  • Help clients engage in internal dialogue with their parts
  • Building trust with parts
  • Negotiating protector partsโ€™ blockage of compassion and empathy

Module Four
Live call: March 13th, 2026 9-12pm PST

Healing the Legacy of the Past

The focus of this module is on building the clientโ€™s ability to offer reparative experiences to trauma-related parts.

  • Supporting increased compassion for all parts
  • Facilitating clientsโ€™ motivation to protect or care for the parts
  • Developing the ability to sense the โ€˜missingโ€™ experiences of a wounded part
  • Capitalizing on moments of compassion and attunement to provide reparative experiences for a part
