Sarah Burgamy, Psy.D.

Hello from ‘Genderland!’

On September 15, 2022, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health published the 8th version of its Standards of Care.

These standards, assembled by an international and multidisciplinary team of experts using the latest evidenced-based research, define our minimum responsibilities as therapists when it comes to providing care for gender diverse clients.

Therapists working with gender-diverse clients often don’t know these standards exist. Or that the APA practice guidelines and DSM diagnostic codes are changing as well. That can leave us providing substandard care to one of the most vulnerable populations.

If you are feeling unsure about recognizing and caring for all gender identities, or curious about how the mental health field is evolving to address the needs of a gender-diverse population, the information is now available in one place / we’ve got the roadmap to get you on track.

We’re proud to present What’s New in Genderland: Your Definitive Guide to New Standards of Care with Sarah Burgamy, Psy.D.
